The HP Online Customer support provides one of the best services in the world of computer technology. HP is one of the high technology companies which supply customer support online. A study was made to evaluate and was conducted from a customer’s perspective online and the HP Online Customer Support received good ratings.

The customers find that there has been an improvement in site simplicity, which implies that the general usability of the site has been made easier. But above all the technical support for customers given by HP has also been commendable. Since technology costs have gone down and site usability is going up, customer support is one of the biggest purchasing considerations for HP.

Customer support sections in HP are formatted around specific home pages for each product. It is important to provide cost effective support to customers. The support sections of the website provide manuals, information and drivers. Like many other companies HP provides user manuals in varying formats, and there are specific to products including FAQs and updated drivers links.

A wide range of varying navigation methods are provided on the online customer support site. Even disadvantaged users like those who have poor eyesight can get better customer support on the HP website. The HP site is technically well architected to provide additional customer support.

User forums provide ample support to customers, as HP invests in updating and monitoring such forums. Online chat is a common mode of communication and it has begun challenging e-mail as the dialog of preference for the website. Most of the e-mail questions are answered helpfully in a time span of 24 hours, and sometimes real-time chat is also possible.

As HP is a high-technology company, there lesser sophisticated users logged in and asking for support for which the company provides a “how to” information as well. Unfortunately, technical customers are well taken care of on the HP website, whereas the newer or less technical customer is supported less. But there is a feedback option which is obviously being monitored to help improve customer support especially for the general public.

Of course there are customers who have been loyal to HP for years, but feel that their invaluable customer support is dwindling and should be revived again. HP online customer support is considered better than many other similar companies, but it still needs to be improved by giving fair treatment to its customers, whether they have a technical or non-technical background.
